Romania’s hydro power production grew 21.2% last year, compared to 2017, to 4 million tons of oil equivalent (toe), according to a report by the British company BP.
EU largest hydro energy producer was Finland, with 14.5 million toe (mtoe), plus 30.5% over the previous year. Sweden followed, with 14 mtoe (down 4.7%) and Italy with 10.4 mtoe (up 33%).
Worldwide, hydro power production increased by 3.1% to 948.8 mtoe, according to Agerpres.
China is ranked first in the world in this chapter with a production of 272.1 mtoe last year, up 3.2%.
