The city of Brașov benefits from a new 20 MW photovoltaic park, an investment of 75 million lei, the contract having already been signed by the mayor Allen Coliban last week. Synergy Construct has 4 months to execute the works, reports Transilvania Business.

Mayor Allen Coliban announced on his Facebook page that he signed the contract for the construction of a photovoltaic park on an area of 20 hectares.

The energy generated by the new investment will provide 90% of public electricity consumption. It is about the necessary ensured for the operation of educational institutions, public buildings, public lighting, cultural institutions, sports bases, including the production of artificial snow in Poiana Brașov.

“We have taken important steps to transform our city into an environmentally friendly one, and in recent years we have managed to start and implement a series of projects to make Brașov a sustainable city. In 2021 we took on an ambitious target: by 2030, to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 55%, and by 2050 to achieve climate neutrality. We are definitely on the right track,” said Mayor Allen Coliban.

The photovoltaic park will be located in the Stupini district, and the system will have an installed electrical power of 20 MW.

The value of the contract is 75 million lei (75,167,795.98 lei without VAT), part of the funds being secured through non-refundable financing through the Large Infrastructure Operational Program.

The works will be carried out by Synergy Construct – as leader, Else Enerji Anonim Sirketi – third party, Graphein Topo – subcontractor; ZOORK – subcontractor; Eds Electric SRL – subcontractor. The investment implementation period is 120 days, of which 30 days are the design stage and 90 days are the execution of the works.
