Romanian Commodities Exchange (BRM) has launched a new platform for the selection of electricity suppliers by household end-users.
“Intended to ensure concentrated demand and simplify market access, the new platform offers the well-established advantages of stock exchange mechanisms: transparency, strict trading rules applied equally to all participants, fast, simple and friendly, efficient access, the best execution. Through active participation with the best offers of the most important suppliers, as well as by the significant aggregation of the purchase orders, the optimal framework of balancing the demand with the offer is achieved, the necessary condition for determining the correct and advantageous prices for consumers,” says the BRM release.
Transactions take place weekly, electronically, on Mondays, with household consumers benefiting from free participation.
They will be able to opt before the tenders for the predefined contractual characteristics and will sign the new contracts at the end of the price discovery sessions, only insofar as their results will consider them favorable.
