The winner of the tender for 130 hybrid buses in Bucharest is Mercedes – Benz and the type of bus that will be delivered is Mercedes – Benz Citaro Hybrid, announced General Mayor Gabriela Firea on Monday.

The bus received the “Bus of the year 2019” award, during the IAA 2018 event. The contract value is about 195 million lei, excluding VAT.

“It is a significant improvement, after not even a single bus being bought for public transport for 12 years. The car park of the Bucharest Transport Company is thus renewed with 530 new, state-of-the-art means of transport, which offer Bucharest the best conditions for public transport.

We are still in the process of awarding contracts for another 300 new means of transport: 100 trams, 100 trolleybuses and 100 electric buses – which are currently in various stages of evaluation and for which part of the funding is insured from non-reimbursable funds”, wrote Gabriela Firea on her socialization page, according to e-nergia.ro.

According to the contract, the delivery will be made from May of next year and will extend over a period of eight months.
