Electricity production in Bulgaria was of 32,632,605 megawatt-hours between January 1 and August 14, while in the same period of last year it was of 28,135,960 megawatt-hours, according to BTA.
Electricity consumption increased by 0.16% in the specified period. From the beginning of the year to August 14, 24,181,524 megawatt-hours of electricity were consumed, while in the similar period in 2021, consumption was 24,143,165 megawatt-hours.
The participation of basic units in the country’s energy mix increased by 23.49% between January 1, 2022 and August 14, 2022, compared to the same period last year. Approximately 27,441,899 megawatt-hours of electricity were produced from the base stations, while in the previous year the electricity coming from them was 22,222,423 megawatt-hours, according to Agerpres.
The data of the electricity system operator indicate that for the period January 1, 2022 – August 14, 2022, compared to the similar period in 2021, the balance (export-import) increased by 111.66%. The TSO statistics show that this indicator has gradually decreased since the beginning of the year, but since then it has usually been above 100%. In the previous report from last week, the indicator for the balance (export-import) was 114.07%.
The participation of renewable energy sources (RES) in the transmission network increased by 23% between January 1, 2022 and August 14, 2022, on an annual basis. In addition, RES participation in the distribution network increased by 15.64%.
A decline in electricity produced by hydropower plants continues to be observed – this time by 28.89% for the period January 1, 2022 – August 14, 2022, compared to the period January 1, 2022 – August 14, 2021, the TSO report also indicates.
