The National Energy Dispatcher, together with the transport and distribution operators, mobilized exemplary to deal with the situations that will arise during these days, in the context of the special meteorological conditions, the Minister of Energy, Sebastian Burduja, announced on Sunday, through a post on his Facebook page.
“I concluded a new meeting of the Energy Command, convened for the preparation of the national energy system in the context of the special meteorological conditions announced. I appreciate the fact that the National Energy Dispatcher, together with the transport and distribution operators, have mobilized in an exemplary way to deal with the situations that will appeared during these days,” said the Minister of Energy.
“The distribution operators have additional intervention teams, stocks of prepared materials (including poles for possible replacements), additional call center operators – everything to be able to respond as quickly as possible to the challenges that arise and to restore the supply of electricity and gas of households. The good news is that, at this time, we have no problems with the operation of the system, neither at the level of the transport network, nor at the level of the distribution networks, nor at the level of the large producers,” Burduja added.
“There are several incidents and disturbances on the medium and low voltage lines, within the limits of a normal working day. We monitor the situation through commands established at the level of each entity.
”We are preparing especially for the challenges that will appear again, unfortunately, in the Galati area. Electrica (DEER) took special measures to protect the Pechea station, which was also affected by previous floods.
”At the request of the distribution operators, we draw the attention of the local authorities to the importance of timely grooming of trees. We have many reported situations, especially in urban areas, where the lack of tree care in the vicinity of electrical networks causes incidents and significant damage to low and medium voltage lines. Obviously, these actions must be taken early, preventively. In the next period, we will create a situation at the national level with the areas and localities most exposed to such risks and we will present it publicly.”
