Alpha Bank, BCR, Libra and UniCredit submitted bids for the provision of a 150 million lei loan to Bucharest City Hall, money needed to finance several public investments of local interest, including the modernization of the Capital’s thermal system.
“The main objective of the local public administration is the development of the Municipality of Bucharest. Thus, the achievement of the investment objectives aimed at ensuring the image of the European capital of the Municipality of Bucharest occupies a priority place. The role of the local public administration is to achieve investment objectives of local interest both from own resources, as well as from other attracted financing, such as repayable financing from specialized institutions,” the tender’s specification reads, according to Profit.ro.
The money will be used for the rehabilitation of the heating system of the Municipality of Bucharest (seven objectives totaling a route length of 31.6 km) – 20 million lei, the development of the urban public space Podul Calicilor – Domnița Bălaşa Urban Ensemble, the Palace of Justice and underground parking – 5 million lei, construction of the pedestrian tourist circuit of the city in the area of Cheiul Dâmboviței Unirii – Izvor, Independence Splaiul, Pod Unirii – Pod Izvor – 10 million lei, construction of Passage Doamna Ghica – 31.5 million lei, construction of penetration of the Ghencea Extension – Domnești and Supralargire Bulevardul Ghencea between Brașov Street and Tram Terminal 41 – 20 million lei, restoration and modernization of the Mihai Flamaropol artificial ice rink and the construction of adjacent spaces necessary for sports and leisure activities – 10 million lei, modernization of heating lines belonging to SACET Bucharest, objective 1 + objective 5 – 9.17 km – 36.1 million lei, modernization of the road system and tram lines Bulevardul Aerogării between Șos. Bucharest – Ploiești and Strada Alexandru Șerbănescu – 7.4 million lei and construction of priority pedestrian and cyclist route – 10 million lei.
