Although the issue of the affidavits in case of energy price capping (declarations on own responsibility) has been resolved for household customers that want to benefit from capped price consumption in several places of consumption – some aspects remain unresolved in the market, such as that of the non-holder of the supply contract, in the case tenants with several children.
The affidavit (self-responsibility declaration) for people that have several places of consumption in order to benefit from capped electricity prices will be eliminated, a project in this sense will be completed on Tuesday evening and approved next week, announced the Minister of Energy, Virgil Popescu, on his official social media page.
“Regarding the provision in the law approved by Parliament whereby Romanians with several places of consumption have the obligation to give a declaration on their own responsibility, I announce that the situation is being resolved. Since the end of last week, Prime Minister Nicolae Ciucă has drawn the task the creation of a draft ordinance to eliminate these statements, so that all citizens can benefit from the capped tariffs regardless of the number of places of consumption. The project will be finalized and put into decision-making transparency this evening, and will be approved next week, during the last this year’s Government meetings,” the minister wrote on Facebook.
In other news, the Smart Energy Association says that not all single-parent families with 3 children will benefit from the capped energy price, in its current form – a fact that would require a new amendment to the law before the New Year holidays.
Thus, “in the situation where the electricity supply contract is in the name of another family member than the one who has declared the children as dependents…he will not benefit from this capped price”, claims AEI.
“This condition can be satisfied by concluding a new electricity supply contract in the name of the family member that also has at least 3 dependent children, respectively in the name of the single-parent family member that has at least one dependent child… This solution, however, restricts the right of these families, to benefit from a capped price starting from January 1, 2023.”
