The analysis of the electricity market must be exhaustive and, although starting from the price of the transactions made on the wholesale markets in the short term, we must consider the excessively large short-term volume of the transactions in connection with those achieved in the long term and with incredibly low prices offered on the retail market, say the officials from Complexul Energetic Oltenia (CEO).
“The analysis should take into account how, in the recent years, the energy system could respond to the special situations, given that, in the future, without an annual constant support the producers of energy from the classical sources, out of economic reasons, will not have the physical ability to maintain the safety of the power system”, it said in a statement.
The representatives of CEO „are confident and appreciate the interest of the authorities empowered to analyze the functioning of the electricity market in Romania and state that these efforts will lead to a progress of the current regulatory framework, which will harmonize the interests of all participants on the energy market”.
One of the most important players in the energy services sector in Romania, CE Oltenia operates from the beginning of this year with an average of about eight energy units.
With an hourly average power of up to 2.900 MW during the days with the maximum values of energy consumption, CE Oltenia covered a quota of up to 30% of energy production from the National Energy System and provided ancillary hourly services of about 380-400 MW, according to the company representatives.
