The CE Oltenia leadership attended at round table meeting, organized in collaboration with the authorities of Timis County, together with representatives of the Ministry of Energy and county authorities (Gorj County Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Gorj Prefecture, Gorj County Council). More than 90 members of multinational companies and more than 20 recruitment firms were present, according to Gazeta de Sud.
The event aimed at identifying solutions for the skilled labor force available in Gorj County, as well as reducing the workforce deficit in Timis county, county with over 200.000 companies and an unemployment rate below 1%. Regarding the new trends within the global energy policy and technology for the electricity resources, following the restructuring programs carried out at the CE Oltenia level, qualified persons in the professions such as electrician, welder, stoker, excavator operator, vulcanizer, and those with higher education in the technical and economic field, can choose for other areas of activity.
The CEO representatives are now expecting the Banat investors to come to invest in the areas affected by mining from Gorj County.
“The company’s management desires decent living conditions including for the workers affected by the mining-energy sector reduction measures and are engaging in actions that can solve the lack of jobs in their own area of activity, identifying possible collaborations with other employers, in order for the working population to cover the needs of their jobs. Some of the companies present at the event have shown interest in opening activities, including in the Gorj area”, mentions CEO.
“In this regard, the CE Oltenia management requested that the Motru, Rovinari, Turceni, Târgu Jiu areas have to be considered. For example, in the next phase of this project, talks will be continued with companies that build highways, as well as with a metallic clothing company that wants to move a part of its work in the Motru area. There are also companies that offer opportunities for women in consumer industry (food industry, clothing, trade activities… ) Last but not least, it is worth mentioning that, impressed by the idea of this project, the representatives of the Romanian-German and Romanian-Italian Chambers of Commerce and Industry considered it unique in Romania and expressed their willingness to disseminate it at national level, for also implementing it in other counties with major differences between the registered unemployment rates”, according to the CEO’s announcement.
This year the energetic company from Târgu Jiu will collectively lay off a thousand miners and energeticians.
