The organizers of Neversea want the festival to be the world’s first-ever only renewable energy sourced next year, Ondrej Safar, country manager of utility company CEZ, the energy provider of the festival, said on Tuesday.
“Next year we want to provide all the energy needed from renewable sources, helping it to become the first green festival in the world,” Safar said, quoted by Agerpres.
CEZ owns in Romania the largest terrestrial wind park in Europe, in Fântânele and Cogealac in Constanţa County, with an installed capacity of 600 MW.
Last year, the wind turbines in this park generated 1,105 GWh, CEZ being the largest private renewable energy producer in Romania.
