For the largest onshore wind farm in Europe, located in Cogealac-Fantanele, the year began with eight days of orange code of blizzards and snow. The windfarm was able to produce large amounts of green energy even during the orange code, accumulating a total production of about 35,000 MW in those eight days. At the end of January, the largest wind park on land in Europe reported a production of 145.000 MWh of green energy.
During January 6, 2017, amid the orange code of wind in the county of Constanta, there were wind gusts of 35 – 40 m/ second, values that are at the superior limit for operating the wind farm.
”Forty specialists CEZ held the reins of the largest onshore wind farm in Europe during the 8 days orange code,” a company brelease shows.
The strong wind from that period has been transformed by the 240 wind turbines in almost 39,000 MW of green energy.
Many of them have worked continuously due to the optimized systems, producing enough green energy to cover 15% of Romania’s electricity consumption.
Over 540,000 homeshave been powered by the green energy produced in one day.
Between 06 -13 January 2017, the CEZ wind farm operated close to the upper limit, managing to produce electricity in absolutely all orange code days.
The total amount of wind energy produced in the 8 days of code was about 35,000 MW.
On average, CEZ wind farm produces 93,000 MWh per month of wind energy.
