About 35% of CEZ Vânzare customers are interested in energy efficiency, and 55% of customers understand that energy efficiency refers to solutions to reduce resource consumption (energy, heat or water).

Almost 23% of customers consider themselves well-informed, while 40% of them consider themselves not at all or very little informed about energy efficiency. About 31% of customers say they have learned about the initiative by which CEZ Vânzare encourages responsible consumption of resources and supports the education of the population in this regard.

The monthly savings on the energy, gas or water bill motivate the most interest in energy efficiency solutions (34.69%). Energy-efficient light bulbs and appliances are the most popular measures to make consumption more efficient, according to the study.

“The lack of information, but also the investments necessary to optimize consumption (purchase of a thermostat or appliances with higher energy class) are the main barriers to being energy efficient. Among the top energy efficiency measures to be adopted in the future are: unplugging devices when not in use (15.07%), purchasing A++++ appliances (14%), but also smart thermostats (9.4%),” say company’s officials.

The study was conducted among 600 CEZ Vânzare household customers, between November and December 2020, by the research department within CEZ Romania.
