CEZ Vânzare joined the Save the Children Romania Organization, carrying out a broad initiative to support the education of children from disadvantaged areas, at risk of poverty or social exclusion. In the context of the start of a school year marked by the COVID-19 pandemic, which brings new challenges for many vulnerable students already exposed to school integration problems, CEZ Vânzare offers tablets, internet for two years and digital training for all those involved in the educational process – from children and parents to teachers.
CEZ Vânzare distributed together with the Save the Children Romania 450 tablets with Internet access for two years, through which to facilitate online learning for the most vulnerable students identified in the communities of Argeș, Dolj, Iași, Timiș, Caraș-Severin and Constanța, and will also conduct specialized digital training courses.
For a long-term positive impact, at the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year, children, parents and also teachers will take part in a series of special trainings, supported by Save the Children Romania specialists. At the training sessions, beneficiaries will learn how to use the new devices to learn online and access useful educational resources both at school and at home.
“Our initiative comes as a response to the worrying figures that describe the current situation of access to education in vulnerable communities. We support this cause through many of our projects. We are glad that we have fulfilled this promise for the future, generating a positive change for the most affected students in our communities, who we hope can now start school with more chances in front of learning and especially in front of a better future, as we want for them,” said Ondrej Safar, Country Manager, CEZ Romania.
