Romanian state-owned rail company CFR SA launched the open tender, with a total value of 3.1 million lei, for the elaboration of the feasibility study that will be the basis of the electrification project of the Răduleşti – Giurgiu Nord railway line, in length of 57 kilometers.
According to a communiqué of CFR SA, the feasibility study for the electrification of the railway line must identify the most efficient solution from a technical-economic point of view, in order to obtain the financing source for the implementation of the investment objective, ensuring interoperability techniques on the Romanian territory and compliance with the standards imposed for the European Corridors and TEN-T Corridors, according to Agerpres.
“We mention the fact that the implementation of this project, for the electrification of the Răduleşti-Giurgiu Nord railway line, directly contributes not only to the development of railway transport, but also to the reduction of the impact on the environment, by taking over the freight traffic from Bucharest Nord route -Jilava – Giurgiu Nord – Giurgiu Nord Border,” it is shown in the quoted document.
The estimated value of the contract is 3,146,831 lei without VAT, and the source of financing will be provided by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The contract’s deadline is of 9 months.
