The amendments to renewables Law 220/ 2008, which should have been published to undergo public debate this week, are further delayed, as the committee composed of members of the Ministry of Energy and the regulatory body ANRE are still discussing on the study made by a consulting company, told energynomics.ro Corina Popescu, state secretary in the Ministry.
Earlier, ministry officials said it was possible that amendments to the renewables law to be published this week.
“I do not think that it will be issued this week,” said Popescu, who explained that the study commissioned to a consulting company is still suffering changes, based on notes received from the Ministry and the ANRE.
However, amendments to Law 220 will take effect in 2017 and for the current year “the currently approved legislation will stay in place,” said Popescu.
Once released, the new act amending the Law 220 will be subject to public debate for two weeks. The name of the consulting company that conducted the new study on renewables for the Romanian authorities was not disclosed, but ”it is a company that has not conducted similar studies in Romania,” Popescu said.
