The offers submitted by Chimcomplex Borzeşti (controlled by businessman Ştefan Vuza) and the White Tiger investment fund are considered with priority for the sale of the assets of the Oltchim plant in Râmnicu Vâlcea, according to sources close to the negotiations.
“Two companies, Chimcomplex and White Tiger, have submitted offers for several asset groups, and all the others are bidding only for a certain asset package. The offers of the two companies for the Oltchim assets, which they want to buy, exceed 100 million euros each. Negotiations are now taking place with the ones that submitted bids, the tenders are being analyzed”, said an advised source for News.ro. Contacted by News.ro, lawyer Gheorghe Piperea, one of Oltchim’s judicial administrators, says that by mid-September he hopes that the winner of the auction will be announced.
“We are trying to speed up the process. We await the official position of the European Commission if it is about economic discontinuity or not”, said Piperea. He states that if the European Commission considers that this is a state aid, then it will not be the buyer’s responsibility, but will remain with the seller. “We hope to convince the European Commission that this is not a state aid”, Piperea also said.
For the purchase of assets of Oltchim Râmnicu Vâlcea, in insolvency, nine new offers were submitted in total
