Chimcomplex announced the completion of the 6 MW high-efficiency cogeneration plant. Thus, the company implemented in the period May 18, 2022 – December 31,2023 the project “Construction of a high-efficiency cogeneration facility of a maximum of 8 MWe at Chimcomplex S.A. Borzești – Râmnicu Vâlcea Branch, benefiting from non-refundable financing based on the financing contract concluded with the Ministry of European Funds as the Management Authority for the Large Infrastructure Operational Program.
The total value of the project was about 49 million lei. The value of the non-reimbursable financing was 19 million lei, of which 16 million was co-financed by the EU through the European Regional Development Fund.
The general objective of the project was to increase the energy efficiency of Chimcomplex S.A. Borzești – Rm. Vâlcea branch by installing a high-efficiency trigeneration plant of 6 MWe and recording savings on primary energy consumption by using the energy produced in a high-efficiency cogeneration system.
As a result of the implementation of the project, savings in primary energy consumption of over 20% were recorded.
