One of the important strategic objectives should be investing in people, in competent personnel, who can use technology, innovate and adapt to the challenges of the future, said on Wednesday the general director of Electrica, Alexandru Chiriță, at ​​the Palace of Parliament.

“One of the important strategic objectives should be investing in people. Why? Because we have now reached a critical crossroads in the energy sector. The pace of change shows us, just like in the Draghi report, that we need to invest in people, in a competent workforce that can use technology, innovate and adapt to the challenges of the future. This is the aspect that we care about the most at Electrica, because we have a problem with human resources, problems with capturing and retaining human intelligence. We are now talking about AI that, here, is invading all aspects of our lives, but we must not forget that people are the ones who allow us to continue operating the system,” Chiriță said at the Black Sea Forum, according to Agerpres.

From this perspective, it is necessary to look towards the horizon of 2040 – 2050, otherwise “we are consumed by technology and we lose our people”.

“It is important to have a long-term workforce and it is important to plan. The question was how will price stability affect us in the future and for what period should a strategic plan be? I think that to achieve our goals we need to look further in time and although as people, as individual entities, companies look at the horizon of 2030, we should look towards 2040 – 2050, otherwise we are consumed by technology and we lose our people. Energy is created by people for people and it is important not to lose sight of this and every time to go back and invest more and more in people, in technologies and to bring these two elements together”, he added.

On Wednesday, at the Palace of Parliament, the Black Sea Forum: Frontier of the Future for a secure & stable Europe took place – the most important economic and geostrategic event of this period.
