CREESC is a non-profit organization established in Cluj-Napoca in 2014 in response to the need to integrate technical and economic solutions dedicated to reducing energy consumption and adapting to climate change. “We have developed a mix of specialists who get involved in various projects. We are already 10 companies, with engineers and designers, all with a focus on energy efficiency, mobility, waste management and all the others elements that are now leading to green, sustainable urban and rural development.

Our services address both private and public authorities, which need specialized support. We have managed, through multidisciplinary synergies, to develop interesting projects, both for local authorities, such as town halls, but also ministries or other managers of energy-intensive buildings or spaces”, said Ciprian Comșulea, President of the Resource Center for Energy Efficiency and Climate change Cluj (CREESC), at the conference “Digitalization and Energy Efficiency – Cluj- Napoca”, organized by Energynomics.

One of the developed projects is the E-Land Horizon 2020 – Energy Islands initiative, which develops a dual system of energy efficiency and digitalisation. “We are also engaged in mobility, which needs to change worldwide, and Cluj-Napoca is a model city, where we have been organizing for two years the sustainable urban culture event – Smart Mobility Cluj, with the third edition for 2021 prepared for the next period .”

The €6 million E-Land Horizon 2020 project was developed together with 12 entities from 7 European countries and 2 entities from India, together with the main partner Smart Innovation Norway. 3 pilot projects are currently underway in the EU, in Spain, Norway and Romania. The project will be completed in 2022. “It is a great honour for Romania to be present with two entities in this project,” Ciprian Comșulea said. Thus, CREESC is an integrator of solutions and the Research Center of the University of Targoviste provides the pilot project on the energy island profle.

“E-Land is a digital platform integrating measurement, quantification of energy production in an energy island” – either a university campus such as Targoviste, or an industrial logistics park such as that in Spain, or a port in the North Sea, as is the case in the Norwegian project.

”The final product will be a multi-vector module for analyzing, forecasting, optimizing and correctly calibrating the production, consumption, storage or even energy delivery. A lot of work will be done on the digital side, because in addition to the energy and energy efficiency elements already installed and operational in each pilot, at this time everything that means energy is optimized with digital solutions.”

width=CREESC, together with its members and partners, has also carried out studies and dedicated energy efficiency measures at the nZEB level for historical buildings, as well as projects such as the Energy Management Service for Cluj-Napoca, maximising the energy efficiency potential for hospitals and medical centers or developing technical requirements for contracting from thermal rehabilitation services in public buildings.

The conference “Digitalization and Energy Efficiency – Cluj-Napoca” was organized by Energynomics, with the support of our partners ABB, Cargus, Claritech, CREESC, Eaton, Enel X Romania, EnergoBit, Kawasaki Gas Turbines Europe, Photomate, Renovatio, Sensible, Wiren.
