Oil Services Group has successfully completed the salvage of the Queen Hind ship, which failed in November in Midia Harbor, with over 14,000 sheeps on board, a unique operation in the Black Sea region, the ship having a length comparable to a football field, according to the president of GSP, Gabriel Comănescu.
“GSP teams have successfully completed the Queen Hind salvage. The operation is unique, according to our data, in the Black Sea region. The ship is stabilized at the dock. GSP allotted the necessary resources for this project. We are fully aware of the urgency of the work. We worked quickly and well. Without any safety or environmental incidents. It was not an easy operation. We brought a ship back to the waterline with a length comparable to a football field. We are talking about a very complex operation, which GSP managed to complete, without incidents, in a record time, compared to other similar projects,” explained the GSP president, in a press release quoted by Agerpres.
On January 14, the National Company of the Administration of the Maritime Ports of Constanta signed with the GSP the contract regarding the dismantling and refueling services of the Queen Hind ship, which, loaded with over 14,000 sheeps, failed in November 2019 in the Port of Midia. The contract, worth about 19 million lei, also provides for the removal and neutralization of the cargo inside the ship.
