Romanian Competition Council authorized the operation by which Complexul Energetic Oltenia and Tinmar Energy would create a company to build a combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plant.
According to a press release of the Competition Council, following the analysis, it was found that this operation does not raise significant obstacles to effective competition on the Romanian market or on a substantial part of it and that there are no serious doubts regarding its compatibility with a normal competitive environment.
The decision will be published on the website of the national competition authority, after the removal of confidential information.
The Oltenia Energy Complex, owned by the Romanian state, carries out its activity in the field of mining, electricity production based on fossil fuels and the supply of thermal energy at the local level.
Tinmar sells petroleum products, is a supplier of electricity, natural gas and a producer of electricity from renewable resources.
