Electrica did not send price alerts to industrial customers, and there were no renegotiations yet, say company officials.
“In the free market there will be a price increase that will not only be felt by Electrica, as a supplier, but it is a phenomenon: it is a free market, that of industrial consumers, there is competition. It is important what extra services we will bring in, so as to convince those industrial consumers to keep us as suppliers,” Corina Popescu said.
“There are some consumers who can take, unfortunately for Romania, some decisions based on emotions. This is why we did not notify consumers, but we expected to see exactly what the impact is, to evaluate it and to react at that time, “Popescu said.
In 2018, Electrica earned an individual net profit of RON 298 million, up 15.4% over the level of 2017, based on the individual audited financial statements and a consolidated net profit of RON 230 million, up by 34.3% compared to 2017.
