Electrica is in the process of implementing the Group’s strategy, which includes the acquisition or construction of new renewable projects, said Corina Popescu, CEO Electrica SA.
“Last year it was a difficult one due to the pandemic situation, but we managed to overcome the crisis and fulfil all our plans. It was the year when we proved that the Group is sustainable in the long term. We have carried out three different fusion projects, and now we have four different companies inside the group – for each business line. The largest is indeed the activity of distribution – Distribuție Energie Electrică România (DEER) is one of the largest distribution operators in the country. In the next position we have the supply line, then Electrica Serv and Electrica Verde – a small entity, the first green energy company in our group. Although we have only 10MW so far, we have big development plans,” said Corina Popescu, at the 8th annual edition of Spring Cocktail, a concept event organized by Energynomics.
“We look forward to seeing the approval of the energy strategy, the NECP and the NRRP as well. They will really help the development of the renewable sector and the implementation of the Green Deal in Romania,” Corina Popescu said.
“For this year we plan growth for Electrica, we intend to be more active on the generation segment and to develop new renewable projects – by the end of this year we will add new capacities. We also want to increase our presence in the region. There is this small project, but we hope that by the end of this year we will also implement this phase of our growth strategy. I think that 2021 will be the year in which Electrica will increase its activity within the group,” she said.
This conference Spring Cocktail 2021 was organized by Energynomics, with the support of our partners: AON România, Automobile Bavaria, Electrica Furnizare, Hidroelectrica, ING Bank România, OMV Petrom, PeWeTe, Photomate, Siemens.
