Centrica Business Solutions, headquartered in Manchester, UK has branches in the US, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, Hungary and Romania, a turnover of 27 billion pounds and 36,000 employees. The activity in Romania is coordinated from Hungary, within the regional office, said Cristian Mîțu, Energy Manager, Centrica Business Solutions Romania, at the “Digitalization and Energy Efficiency – Timisoara” conference, organized by Energynomics.

“We work mainly on energy efficiency projects – including cogeneration and trigeneration plants,” said Cristian Mîțu, who added: “We have global experience in cogeneration.”

Centrica carries out turnkey projects that include complex processes, including the assessment of return on investment and income benefits. “We supply equipment and obtain all the necessary authorizations, including from ANRE. We assemble and put into operation the equipment and we also offer operation and maintenance 24/7, with a specialized team”.

Centrica can provide financing for the realization of projects, becoming their owner and selling the energy generated to the client, based on a contract. “We can make the investment for the beneficiary, with the delivery of fixed assets and ensuring long-term operation and maintenance,” he added.

width=“The combined solution for producing electricity and heat is the most advantageous, with definite pluses. We use methane gas in our projects, and biogas projects have also been developed in Hungary. The company has a technology twice as efficient as the classic one, we generate electricity much cheaper than the electricity on the market, we use the heat produced by the engine in the form of hot or chilled water or industrial steam, if the customer needs it for the production process.

The payback period of such an investment is 5-8 years, and the life of the equipment is up to 25 years (engines). The efficiency of cogeneration systems is 80-85%.

The conference “Digitalization and Energy Efficiency – Timisoara”, was organized by Energynomics, with the support of our partners ABB, Centrica Business Solutions, Eaton, ENGIE Romania, Enel X Romania, Kawasaki Gas Turbines Europe, Renovatio, Sixt, Wiren.
