E.ON Romania offers 10,000 euros for Casa Prietenia (Friendship Home) in the city of Lipova. Managed by the Kinder Soforthilfe Foundation, the house hosts 11 children aged between 10 and 23, who come from families with a precarious material situation, live in the home.
Kids follow the gymnasium courses in Lipova, and three of them who have already graduated from the high school are preparing in Arad and Câmpina for the professions of pharmacist, nurse, and policeman, respectively.
“More people doing many small things in small places can change the face of the world,” says Susanne Kastner, founder of the Kinder Soforthilfe Foundation, member of the Bundestag from 1989 to 2013.
The Kinder Soforthilfe foundation from Lipova was established in 2003 and since then it has been carrying out activities in the social field in Romania. In the fall of 2003, the foundation managed to buy a house in Lipova, which it transformed into a family-type placement center, naming it Casa Prietenia. Until now, 24 young people have found a loving home there, where they grew up and lived until the completion of their studies.
“You will soon celebrate 20 years since the inauguration of the Friendship House and I think about how many children have passed through your hands during these years and how much you have changed their destiny for the better. E.ON is 18 years old since it entered the energy market in Romania. We are and will remain dedicated to the community. We are happy that, today, we can offer you financial support, so that the little ones and young people in the center can have the best conditions,” adds Volker Raffel, CEO of E.ON Romania.
E.ON has been with the Kinder Soforthilfe Foundation since 2005, contributing to several projects, including supporting the renovation works at Casa Prietenia in 2019.
