MOL Romania and the Children’s Heart Association will build a helipad on the roof of the Children’s Emergency Clinical Hospital „M. S. Curie”.Construction works will begin in the fall of 2019 and will benefit to patients in need of emergency medical intervention in the „M.S. Curie „ hospital.
„We are honoured that MOL Romania is part of this project. Previously, MOL Romania supported other projects of the Children’s Heart Association in favour of the Emergency Clinical Hospital M. S. Curie under the company’s CSR program Children’s Health. We were impressed by the sensitivity and depth of the Association’s initiatives and we were glad when we found out that we could be together again in a project whose necessity was obvious. MOL Romania wants to support those projects that respond to the real needs of the community and we are very pleased to know that, when this project is completed, patients in serious condition requiring emergency interventions will have an extra chance for life and recovery,” said Camelia Ene, CEO & Country Manager of MOL Romania.
The heliport construction works, which will be located on the rooftop of the hospital, will begin in autumn 2019, following an investment of 425,000 euro. „I was a partner of MOL Romania in a very heartfelt project for our association -”No lonely child in hospital „, a program addressed to a very vulnerable category: children with serious medical problems left behind in the hospital by their families. The quality of our collaboration was beyond expectations and the joy of doing something extremely beautiful and useful together had the gift of getting us closer. Now we are back together for something extremely important: the construction of a heliport for the emergency transport of children in extreme medical conditions. We thank MOL Romania for the confidence it gives us, and I am sure we will collaborate with as much joy knowing that what we are doing will save many lives. I can only hope that there will be other projects that really make the difference for children with serious medical problems,” said Alexandru Popa, president of the Heart of Children Association.
Staff of the Clinical Emergency Hospital for Children „M. S. Curie” performs a wide range of interventions, many of the hospital patients being transported from different areas of Romania. In most cases, patients need urgent intervention and the time spent to transport them by ambulance from the helicopter landing place to the hospital is too long. For this reason, in some cases their rescue is no longer possible.
„We thank MOL Romania for helping us to build a heliport on the rooftop of the Clinical Emergency Hospital for Children” M. S. Curie „. This construction is very important to us primarily because it will allow us to intervene more quickly and with greater chances of success in serious cases. In emergency medicine, almost always a few moments make a difference between life and death. We had cases of patients for whom we could not intervene successfully because they arrived too late and we are convinced that with the completion of this construction, we will also increase the number of children we save, „ said Dr. Catalin Cîrstoveanu , Head of the Intensive Care Unit at the Children’s Emergency Clinical Hospital „M. S. Curie „.
„We welcome the partnership with MOL Romania and we are glad to start the project of building a heliport at the Marie Curie Hospital. It is the first such construction for a paediatric hospital in Romania and, at the same time, it is an investment that will help us save the lives of many patients. We remain committed to our mission to improve the quality of the services we offer to patients and we thank all those who join us in this process, „said Daniel Buzatu, Manager of the Children’s Emergency Clinical Hospital” M. S. Curie „.
