“In accordance with the social partners and out of respect for the protection and safety of the employees, all the sanitary protection measures in force in Romania have been implemented to progressively resume the manufacturing activity carried out on the Dacia industrial platform in Mioveni. Thus, starting with the 21st April, the production activities of the two plants will be resumed on a voluntary basis,” reveals a statement quoted by Agerpres.
According to the quoted source, from April 21, the Mechanical and Chassis Plant is ready to restart the activity in a reduced work team, and the Vehicle Plant will resume production in the molding department, in two shifts. From May 4, the activities of both plants will be restarted.
“Throughout the period during which the production activity was discontinued, measures were defined and applied to protect employees in the prospect of returning to work. These hygiene and safety measures will be rigorously applied. Employees will be informed about the need to respect the measures taken to protect their and their colleagues’ health. Since the onset of the pandemic crisis, generated by the new COVID-19 virus, Groupe Renault Romania has made sure to take appropriate protection measures for all employees in all the locations where they operate,” is also mentioned in the press release.
Groupe Renault Romania initially announced the cessation of production at the plants in Mioveni from March 17 to April 5, in the context of the coronavirus pandemic. At the beginning of April it was decided to extend the period of interruption of the production activity, in agreement with the social partners.
