The Electrica S.A. Board of Directors has appointed Dan Catalin Stancu in the position of General Manager. He will assume this responsibility as of October 24th, 2016.
Dan Catalin Stancu succeedes as General Manager to Ms. Iuliana Andronache – CFO, who ensured the interim, since March 2016.
“The selection of the new CEO of the company was made following a rigorous selection process, conducted by the best practices. We wish to welcome Catalin Stancu in the Electrica family. His experience is, in our opinion, very important, especially in such a challenging period. Meanwhile, we thank Iuliana Andronache for the way she managed the company in the last six months,” said Cristian Busu the Chairman of the Board of Electrica S.A.
Dan Catalin Stancu (53) is a top executive with an experience of over 26 years in electricity and natural gas field, out of which 19 years were spent in the Electrica Group (1990-2009), during which he held several senior positions, including director of corporate affairs and privatization. Also, over time, he was a member of Boards of Directors of Electrica Muntenia Nord, Electrica Distributie Transilvania Nord, Electrica Furnizare Transilvania Nord, E.ON Moldova and CEZ Oltenia.
Since 2009, Dan Catalin Stancu was a part of E.ON Romania, where he held the position of director of strategy and corporate development and of member of the Boards of Directors of E.ON Distributie Romania and E.ON Renewable.
Catalin Stancu is a graduate of the Faculty of Energetics from the Polytechnic University of Bucharest, also holding an MBA from Sheffield University, and a diploma in Management from the Codecs-Open University, also in the UK.
