The renewable energy market in Romania is in a positive period and the authorities should follow this trend, especially as an election year is coming up, said Dana Dărăban, Executive Director at the Association of Energy Utility Companies.

“We are now seeing a desirable development in the market. Things seem to be moving in the right direction, which is why we should follow market trends,” said Dărăban, at the conference “2024: A defining year for the renewable energy sector in Romania”.

Given that 2024 is an election year, it is difficult to predict how many problems will be solved, but it is essential that the outlook for 2025 is predictable.

According to Dărăban, it is crucial for large renewable energy projects that the market remains free. Romania has faced this problem in the past, and the 2008 crisis highlighted the national production deficit.

“Investors are willing to take market risks, but not administrative risks,” she added.

The conference “2024: A defining year for the renewable energy sector in Romania” was organized by Energynomics with the support of our partners: ADC, Alive Capital, CRC Energy, Elektra Renewable Support, EnergoPower, Ensys, Extro, Horváth, ING Bank, LONGi Solar, Monsson Operation, Nofar Energy, OX2 România, Photomate, PNE Romania, Polytrade Global, REI Grup, Renomia, Sph3ra Management Solutions, Transelectrica, WALDEVAR Energy, Wiren Romania. On this occasion, Energynomics launched its first report under the initiative “Monitor of the Romanian Photovoltaic Projects”.
