Datacor has been running numerous rooftop PV projects and ground-mounted solar parks over the past 2-3 years, the largest of which has a capacity of 3 MW, built last year. The company is also exploring the possibility of energy storage, said Decebal Tudorache, Vice President Sales at Datacor.
“Datacor’s mission is to support owners of commercial, public, residential and industrial buildings in transforming them into safer, smarter and more energy efficient spaces,” said Tudorache, at the conference “Digitalization and Energy Efficiency – Oradea”, organised by Energynomics, together with the Italian Chamber of Commerce for Romania – CCIpR.
Global estimates indicate that by 2024, wind and photovoltaic plants will overtake hydropower, and by 2025, renewables will overtake coal as the main energy source. By 2028, renewables are expected to account for 42% of global electricity generation.
Nationally, 624 MW of new green power generation capacity was added last year, of which 496 MW in PV plants and 128 MW in prosumer PV plants. For the period 2024-2025, estimates show that increases will be even higher, Tudorache added.
