Electrica – Acquisition of shares in Electrica subsidiaries from Fondul Proprietatea
The transaction, at a total price of 752 million lei, represents the best possible placement under the current market conditions and allows the efficient use of the capital obtained by Electrica following the Initial Public Offering.
Following the acquisition of the minority shares held by Fondul Proprietatea in the distribution and supply subsidiaries of Electrica S.A. it is expected that the corporate governance model will be simplified and streamlined, that the implementation of the transformation programs within the Group’s companies will be accelerated, that Electrica’s financial performance will be increased and capital structure optimized, to allow subsidiaries to be funded by diversified methods (including capital injections), a prerequisite for carrying out extremely ambitious investment plans, the achievement of which determines the company’s profitability.
