DEER – Baia Mare Branch is carrying out a large investment project to expand and modernize the electricity distribution network in the historical northern area of ​​Maramureș County. The investment work “Modernization of the 20kV Sighet-Teceu, 20kV Sighet-Costui and 20kV Sighet-Radio Vad Overhead Lines” is financed from the Modernization Fund by the European Commission through the Ministry of Energy under the Submeasure: “Supporting investments for the expansion and modernization of the electricity distribution network”.

With a total project value of over 97 million lei, the main objective of the investment is to ensure the continuity of the electricity supply, in safe conditions, to consumers and producers in the area, while ensuring the necessary infrastructure for connecting new users.

Thus, over 10,000 consumers will benefit from a distribution service at high quality standards.

The main works of the investment, with an expected completion date of 31.03.2026, consist of the expansion and modernization of the electrical networks, by replacing conductors and insulators, some poles, as well as some SCADA equipment.
