The new radio-communications system implemented by Delgaz Grid includes 63 repeaters (signal amplifiers), ensuring operational communications in areas where are elements of the electricity distribution system. Approximately 500 transmission-reception stations create the network through which energy dispatchers and electricians can constantly communicate about the commands performed, potential damage to equipment, safety measures to be taken in various situations, etc.
In this way, direct communication between the Dispatcher and the intervention team is easy, even when the mobile phone signal disappears, without the need for electricians to travel to areas with a telephone signal in order to coordinate the maneuvers in the distribution system. Thus, the time allocated to interventions is considerably reduced.
The new radio-communications system was operationalized in 2019 in the counties of Iași, Suceava and Botoșani, and this year the works and testing periods in the counties of Vaslui, Bacău and Neamț were completed. By implementing the investment of over 3.2 million lei, the operational communications are significantly improved, especially in critical situations, thus reducing the periods in which consumers are not supplied with energy.
The configuration of the new radio communication system allows further developments including: the use of panic buttons for human safety in extreme cases where the integrity of field teams is endangered (eg road accidents or accidents in facilities, assaults), GPS location and so on. At the same time, in order to consolidate the functioning of this system, additional communication equipment will be installed in order to react optimally in case of significant damages in the energy distribution networks.
