Consumers will benefit from increased service quality through more efficient energy management facilities, but also by improving the continuity of electricity distribution following the successful completion, this month, of a large project supported by European funds, within which smart metering and network modernization works were carried out, operated by the Delgaz Grid company in the Nicolina, Frumoasa and CUG areas.
The total value of the investment is approximately 56.3 million lei, the project benefiting from co-financing from the European Regional Development Fund through the Large Infrastructure Operational Program.
During the works, 10,016 smart meters, 203 signal filters, 951 interfaces, data concentrators were installed, and the low-voltage network was rehabilitated by replacing approximately 8,760 linear meters of cable and 1,837 cubicles (electrical panels) of various types.
Delgaz Grid currently has approximately 425,000 SMART meters installed, of which over 300,000 are integrated into a smart metering system.
In the coming years, another approximately 900,000 smart meters will be installed at consumers following two ongoing projects with financing from the Modernization Fund, totaling approximately 626 million lei, of which approximately 433 million lei represents non-reimbursable financing.
Thus, taking into account the meters installed at new consumers, by 2029, about 1.4 million meters will be in operation, which means that approximately 85% of our customers will benefit from smart metering.
