Delgaz Grid specialists identified, between January and June, 914 cases of fraudulent consumption, 458 of them being in the natural gas distribution system and about 456 in the electricity network.

In all 914 cases, improvisations made by various people to steal energy or natural gas were found. Weak or uninsulated connections between cables or wire connections to natural gas installations endangered both children and adults living or transiting the areas.

Illegal interventions also affect honest consumers, by interrupting the supply of energy or natural gas for certain periods of time, reducing the quality of electricity and natural gas distribution services and implicitly leading to increased costs.

The over 900 cases of fraudulent consumption caused Delgaz Grid to lose 6.5 million lei in the first six months of the year.

In all these cases, legal measures were initiated for the recovery of damages, being filed, at the same time, criminal complaints, for finding out and prosecuting the perpetrators.
