The virtual reality learning system at Delgaz Grid’s Education Center in Suceava simulates a three-dimensional space that faithfully reproduces an electrical transformer station, providing an environment of interaction with the equipment specific to this type of installation, according to a release released by energynomics.ro.
Trainees practice in the virtual environment a series of maneuvers which they will later perform in their current work, in the real environment, in electrical transformation stations. Thus, the technical staff has the ability to run maneuvers in a virtual transformation station without risk, which will help get the skills and knowledge necessary for safe operation and handling of the equipment.
Within this advanced learning system, five working scenarios are described, and electricians are required to perform various operations: selecting specific protection equipment, using the SCADA system (data acquisition and remote control), maneuvering with medium voltage switches, replacing fuses, passing of electricity from one transformer to another. More than 200 electricians and engineers in the field of energy transformation stations will improve their professional performance with the help of the virtual reality training system.
The investment for the purchase of this equipment was of 100,000 euros.
