The average duration of unplanned interruptions in the electricity network for Delgaz Grid users decreased in 2023 to 67.93 minutes, well below the national average of 103.92 minutes. The result comes as a result of the company’s investments to increase the safety and quality of the electricity and natural gas distribution service for its approximately 3.4 million customers.

Thus, the main performance indicator for the continuity of electricity supply SAIDI (System Average Interruption Duration Index) for unplanned interruptions has improved considerably. The duration of interruptions decreased by 11% compared to the previous year, when the indicator was 76.4 minutes and is more than 20 times lower compared to the 1,800 minutes/year that were recorded before privatization.

Likewise, in 2023, Delgaz Grid ranks first in the SAIFI (System Average Interruption Frequency Index) indicator of the number of unplanned interruptions, with 0.83 interruptions, half of the country average of 1.74 interruptions.

The significant improvement of the service offered by our company is recorded in the latest report of the National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE), which ranks Delgaz Grid in the first position among distributors in Romania both in terms of the number and duration of unplanned interruptions in the year 2023.

The E.ON group, which also includes Delgaz Grid, has invested over 9 billion lei (1.83 billion euros) in distribution, gas and electricity networks since it came to Romania in 2005. For this year we have proposed to invest 788 million lei (153 million euros) of which 423 million lei (82 million euros) for the modernization of the electricity network.

At the same time, we want to attract as much European money as possible for investment, especially since these financings do not put pressure on distribution tariffs. We already have projects in various stages totaling 3.3 billion lei (660 million euros). It is very important because every euro we manage to attract from EU funds and invest in the Romanian infrastructure means one less euro to pay for the Romanian consumer.
