The Greek natural gas company DESFA will be able to export around 9 billion cubic meters of gas in Southern and Central Europe.
„We will be able to export 9 bcm to the north. Investments are undergoing”, said Kleopatra Avraam, Senior Manager of Strategic Planning at DESFA, at the Central-European Natural Gas Congress, organized by Transgaz recently in Sibiu, Romania.
By 2025, the company will be able to export 5 bcm through the Greece-Bulgaria Interconnector and an additional 3.5 bcm through the existing infrastructure in North Macedonia.
Also, another 2 bcm will be available after 2027 when the company will finish the duplication of its pipelines in the north of the country.
According to Avraam, more than 27 entities from southern and central European countries participated in the recent LNG sales auctions in Greece because all these countries are interested in diversification and security of supply.
