Wiren Energy has been present in the photovoltaic industry for 10 years, said Dor Marian, Managing Partner Wiren Energy, during the conference “Digitalization and Energy Efficiency – Brasov”, organized by Energynomics.
“Industry has started to grow again based on new demands for installations meant to own consumption. We have prosumers now, for a short time – the new consumer of up to 100 kW, who benefits from net metering. If 8-9 years ago investments were made only in photovoltaic parks, recently, through the new legislation, we can propose facilities from 3 to 100 kW that makes sense, both economically and from the environment perspective, by reducing the CO2 impact, and by “greening” the consumption, they benefit the society as a whole,” he said.
At the industrial level, roof panels can be installed, and the difference between production and consumption can be injected into the network. “We are building so many big projects, unfortunately only outside Romania. From next year, we hope to start building photovoltaic parks on the ground in Romania as well. We now focus heavily on promoting energy efficiency and on-site production, both for industrial consumers and prosumers, who have phenomenal potential. In the next 10 years, about 1 million homes could install panels on-grid or with batteries. The residential segment could generate 3,000 MW in the coming years and create 20,000 new jobs. This means doubling the power currently installed in solar parks. From our calculations, the amortization of such a residential investment can be obtained in about 6-8 years. The same calculation applies to public institutions, with projects up to 100 kW. In the future, these systems will also be able to benefit from storage solutions”, added Dor Marian.

“In addition, many of the big consumers are starting to think about such models. First to improve their exposure to energy price fluctuations, but also to project a “green” brand. Photovoltaic parks will get traction; there are many projects, and many include storage elements. Hydrogen solutions are also interesting in the long term. I think we, Wiren, can reach a level of 1-2 MW new capacity installed per day, given the great potential, and I hope to build more and more in Romania,” he concluded.
