On Wednesday, 9 April 2025, Energynomics in collaboration with Green Energy Expo & Romenvirotec, is organising the conference “Energy Day with Energynomics”, at Romexpo Exhibition Complex, Bd. Mărăști 65-67, pavilion B2 – an ideal platform to demonstrate companies’ commitment to green innovations and solutions. How do you see the current state of the photovoltaic sector in Romania and the impact that support schemes have had on it?

Romania has taken important steps to support renewable energy, and support schemes such as the Casa Verde Fotovoltaice programme have led to a significant increase in the uptake of solar technologies.

• Casa Verde Fotovoltaice 2024 offers support of 30,000 lei to individuals, covering a large part of the cost of a photovoltaic system. This programme facilitated the installation of over 66,000 systems in the last edition alone.
• Support for SMEs – Funding through the NRRP and programmes for businesses help companies invest in PV systems and storage batteries, reducing grid dependency and operational costs.
• Prosumer regulation – The increase in the number of prosumers has led to legislative changes, including the obligation for distributors to provide the necessary infrastructure to integrate energy into the grid.

However, the main challenge remains to adapt the grid to an increasing number of prosumers, and LIVOLTEK’s storage solutions are becoming essential for the energy stability of the national system.

 

What are the main challenges in integrating solar energy into the energy system and how can they be overcome??

The main problem is solar energy fluctuations and grid balancing. Solar energy is variable and dependent on weather conditions, which can create grid balancing problems. LIVOLTEK’s storage solutions help stabilise this variation, allowing users to consume the energy produced when they need it, not just when it is generated.

How do you see the evolution of the photovoltaic market in Romania and the region in the medium and long term and what role does your company propose to play in this context??
