E-Distribuție Banat has planned this year to put into operation investment projects worth 123.75 million lei (25 million euros), targeting the modernization of electricity distribution grids and equipment in Timiș, Arad, Caraș Severin and Hunedoara counties, in order to improve the quality of the distribution service provided to customers.
The projects related to the high voltage grids and equipment reach a value of almost 30 million lei (6.25 million euros). The most important projects include the revamping of the 110/20 kV high / medium voltage substation in Orăștie (Hunedoara county), the modernization of the high and medium voltage cells in the Musicescu and Victoria stations in Timisoara, the modernization of the medium voltage cells in the stations Bujac and Chisineu Criș (Arad county), and Căprișoara, Irum and Simeria (Hunedoara county).
Moreover, electricity quality monitoring systems will be installed in 38 substations in all 4 counties. One of the 25 MVA transformers from Victoria station in Timisoara will be replaced by a modern and efficient transformer.
For the medium and low voltage grids, investments of almost 61 million lei have been allocated. Of these, in Timiș County, works are scheduled for the revamping of overhead and underground electrical grids as part of the events related to the city’s candidacy in the European Cultural Capital 2021 competition. Moreover, the most important projects in Timiș county include the modernization of the low voltage grids and connections in the following localities: Ghiroda, Jebel, Moșnita Veche, Utvin, Sânmihaiu Român, Parța, Bethausen, Beregsău Mic.
In Timis County, works are also planned for the centralization of the measurement groups in order to install smart meters in Giarmata Vii, Pesac, Bethausen, Beregsău Mic, but also in Timisoara city, in the areas Lipovei and Dâmbovița. The projects for the centralization of the measurement groups involve modernization of connections and installation of meters at the limit of the clients’ properties.
On the medium voltage segment, Timis county sees the upgrade of overhead power lines that serve the following localities: Buziaș (where an underground line is relocated to increase the capacity and safety of customers supply), Biled, Săcălaz, Urseni, Făget, Sâmpetru Mare, Igriș, Masloc Utvin, Românești, Labașinte, Periam, Mănăștur, Călacea and Ghilad. In Timișoara, the medium-voltage underground power lines that supply customers in Musicescu, Cetate, Câmpului, Ghirodei Avenue, Calea Urseni are upgraded.
In Caraș Severin County, the most important projects refer to the modernization of medium voltage overhead power lines in Lățunaș, Brădișor, Slatina, as well as to the modernization of low voltage grids and connections to allow the installation of smart meters in the localities Zorlențu Mare, Târnova, Potoc, Reșița (Calea Caransebeșului area). In addition, low voltage overhead power lines and connections will be upgraded in Oravița (in the perimeter of streets Spitalului, Broșteniului, Horia, Closca și Crișan).
In Hunedoara county, medium voltage grids are replaced or modernized in Deva, Brad, Orăștie, Vulcan (rural area included), Simeria, Șoimuș (with Cărpiniș, Rapolt, Rapolțel, Bampotoc, Chimindia, Hărău, Bârsău, Uroi), Lupeni, Brad – with Hertești, Tudorănești, Călămăresti, Lunca Brad, Dealul Tăului, Ruda, Gura Ruzii, Luncoi, Luncșoara, Luncoiul de Jos, Luncoiul de Sus, Dealul Fetii, Podele, Dealul Mare, Dudești. Also, supply points and substations are modernized in Hunedoara, Ciula Mare, Braznic, Ilia, Valea Sângiorgiului, Uricani, Lupeni.
On the low voltage segment in Hunedoara County, investments are being made for the modernization of the power lines in Pui locality (Federi and Șerel villages), Vața de Jos (Târnava de Criș, Tătărăștii de Criș, Prihodiște, Brotuna, Basarabasa, Ociu, Ocișor, Vața de Sus and Căzănești villages), Balșa (Voia, Vălișoara, Techereu, Almașum Mic de Munte, Poiana, Oprișești, Poienița villages) and Orăștie city (Old Center). There are also projects to improve voltage or strengthen grids in Petrila (Lunca Florii area), Vetel locality (Boia Barzii area), Straja, Lupeni, Pestișu Mic, Hărău locality, Simeria, Hațeg, Valea Brad, Poienița.
In Arad city, works of about 2.5 million lei will be put into operation for the modernization of the medium and low voltage electricity grids, both overhead and underground. In Arad county there are works to strengthen the medium voltage grid in the Lipova – Ususău area, to increase the distribution capacity of the medium voltage overhead line in Horia and Livada, as well as works to increase the safety of supply in Nădlac,Semlac, Șeitin localities. Also, the substations in Ineu, Sebiș, Chisineu Criș, Moneasa, Gurahonț, Beliu are upgraded or replaced, and the low voltage grids in Hălmagiu, Rădești, Tisa Nouă, Nădlac and Șiria are modernized.
