Almost 80 institutions and 3,300 families in Romania received more than four million kWh of energy donated by E.ON, as part of the “Give Light” campaign, in the nine years of its implementation, according to the data published by the company.

According to a press release, in 2024, between April 26 and May 7, four institutions received 800,000 kWh of energy from E.ON with the help of Romanians, of which 300,000 kWh were supplemented by the energy company.

Since the launch of the campaign, nine years ago, almost 80 institutions and 3,300 families have received more than four million kWh of energy.

“The beneficiaries are several hundred children and young people with special needs cared for in four social institutions. Impressed by their stories, Romanians, users of social media platforms, were able to decide to whom the amount donated by E.ON Energie Romania should go, each appreciation or redistribution of a story bringing 100 kWh of energy to the chosen institution. The stories of the institutions were made known by the campaign ambassadors: Mihai Morar, Andreea Remețan, Lucian Mîndruță and Bob Rădulescu,” the press release states.

This year’s beneficiaries of the “Give Light” campaign are: Cisnădie Children’s Villages (139,048 kWh), “Primăvara” Resita Inclusive Education School Center (185,783 kWh), “Maria Montessori” Bacau Special High School (219,511 kWh) and Special Professional School Samus of Cluj-Napoca (255,658 kWh).

The representatives of E.ON Romania specify that the amount of energy received by the beneficiaries is to be deducted from their electricity or natural gas bills.
