This week, E.ON Energie Romania launched a new fast charging station for electric vehicles, on the perimeter of the MOL service station in Râmnicu Vâlcea, thus continuing the work for the implementation of the electric transport infrastructure on the Constanța – Bucharest – Timisoara route.
So far, E.ON Energie Romania has opened 15 stations, of which 7 on the Iași-Gheorgheni-Târgu Mureș route, the other 8 being in the localities: Piatra Neamţ and Roman (Neamţ county), Bacău, Suceava, Adjud (Vrancea county) and Bucharest.
The charging station from Râmnicu Vâlcea has a maximum power of 93 kW. Thus, the average charging time of an electric car will be about 40 minutes for 80% of the battery. The unit provides a fast charging station of 1×50 kW (DC CCS or CHAdeMO DC) + 1×43 kW (AC Type 2 connectors), and has 2 parking spaces.
The initiative is part of the NEXT-E project, co-financed from European funds through the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) program, through which E.ON Energia Romania set out to install 19 units of rapid charging for vehicles, while other 21 are to be installed by to MOL, one of the partners in this project.
So far, through the NEXT-E stations installed by E.ON Energia Romania, the owners of electric or hybrid vehicles have used approximately 22 thousand kWh of electricity and have traveled over 120 thousand km. Most of the loads were made at the stations in Suceava, Iași and Roman.
