E.ON Romania intends to install 400,000 smart meters in the next eight or nine years, with total investments of 135 million lei, of which 45 million lei of European funds, Anca Dragu, deputy general manager of the Company said.
„Over the past eight years, approximately 315,000 smart meters have been integrated, with a total investment value of about 127 million lei. For the next eight years, our target is to mount nearly 400,000 meters and the value of these investments would be of 135 million lei,” she said, according to Agerpres.
The most advanced smart metering works are in the counties of Bacau and Neamt. „We have recently received funding from European funds of 45 million lei, through which we will assemble over 10,000 smart meters to consumers in Iasi,” Dragu also said.
According to the National Regulatory Authority for Energy, in March 2018, approximately 4.8% of the Romanian consumers, ie 443.000 users, owned smart meters for measuring the electricity consumption.
