Eaton, intelligent energy management company, launches a new family of charging stations – Eaton Green Motion Home and Eaton Green Motion Building – for residential and commercial AC applications to support the growing demand for electric vehicle charging . The new products are available in Romania starting from March 2024 and are designed to be used both indoors and outdoors, as well as in private or public parking lots.
“As a specialist energy management company, we have developed Eaton Green Motion Home charging stations to be used safely and in harmony with your vehicle and home. Thus, our new product becomes the best choice as part of the home energy management strategy, being developed to work in a simple and fast manner. The Eaton Green Motion Building charger is designed to meet the highest cybersecurity standards, and with its superior load balancing capabilities, it is a good choice for multi-user EV charging without expensive network upgrades,” said Gabriel Tache, general manager, Eaton Electric Romania.
The Eaton Green Motion Home is a flexible choice for charging electric vehicles at home, offering a power output ranging from 3.7 kW to 22 kW. Supplied with a standard EU type 2 (T2 or T2S) cable or plug, the power output of the Eaton Green Motion Home EV charging station is easily adjustable to match the power sources available at the installation site.
The sleek and compact design of the Eaton charging station fits perfectly into small spaces. To ensure ease of use, a series of LED lights show the status and progress of the charging session.
Charging is fast, even at 3.7 kW, thanks to technology patented by Eaton and Green Motion during their research and development partnership. Since Eaton acquired Green Motion in 2021, Eaton’s global reach and energy management expertise have been combined with Green Motion’s decade of experience as pioneers in electric vehicle charging.
The benefits of this collaboration are obvious, from the technical quality to the design of the charging station to the service network, which spans most of Europe.
Eaton Green Motion Building charging stations, with power outputs ranging from 3.7 kW to 22 kW, have been designed for static or dynamic load balancing of up to 50 units, with the option of prioritized charging on demand. It is the ideal solution for use in workplaces, business parks, residential blocks and similar locations.
RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) integrated into the Eaton Green Motion Building charging station can be used to allow only authenticated users access and distribute charging costs to specific vehicles. In addition, the charging station is equipped with a MID (Measuring Instruments Directive) meter to meet EU billing accuracy requirements. Electric vehicle fleet managers who provide drivers with an AC charging station to use in their own homes will find this model ideal for separating “personal use” from “business use” for expense reporting and billing.
