On Wednesday, 9 April 2025, Energynomics in collaboration with Green Energy Expo & Romenvirotec, is organising the conference “Energy Day with Energynomics”, at Romexpo Exhibition Complex, Bd. Mărăști 65-67, pavilion B2 – an ideal platform to demonstrate companies’ commitment to green innovations and solutions. The conference and exhibition will also showcase the latest developments in renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies. In preparation for the April meeting, we spoke to Ecobat Energy one of the exhibiting companies.

What innovative solutions or new technologies Ecobat Energy is offering at Green Energy Expo & Romenvirotec?

Ecobat Energy is exhibiting at Green Energy Expo & Romenvirotec with complete solutions of integrated photovoltaic systems, energy storage and intelligent consumption management. We will focus on 61.44 kWh Deye All-in-One storage systems, ideal for residential and industrial applications; important to note that the Deye All-in-One storage system is IP65 so it can be installed outdoors, being used in construction site applications, in agriculture and as a back-up system for medical institutions… We also present complete solutions for the government programmes “Green House Photovoltaics”, Electric UP, RePower.

You have referred to “Green House Photovoltaics”, Electric UP, RePower. How current regulations and support schemes influence the development of the photovoltaic sector in Romania?

The current regulations, including the ‘Casa Verde Fotovoltaice’ and Electric Up programmes, are a significant boost for the development of the Romanian PV market. However, excessive red tape and lengthy approval/reimbursement periods can slow down the rapid implementation of projects and, in general, these delays have resulted in a drop in sales. We believe that digitisation of the approval processes and better inter-institutional coordination with clear deadlines would accelerate the transition to green energy.

What are the main challenges in integrating solar energy into the energy system and what solutions do you see to overcome them?

One of the main challenges is the variability of PV output, which can affect grid stability. The solution is efficient energy storage, using accumulators, in parallel with the modernisation of the SEN and ideally the development of smart grids that can manage fluctuating energy flows. Implementing advanced generation and consumption forecasting systems will also help to balance the system. If we look at the reality on the ground, the easiest solution to implement is for current/ future prosumers to install hybrid PV systems with battery storage to help stabilise the grid and have the advantage of a back-up when blackouts occur.

What kind of fears or misunderstandings among potential customers will you address with visitors at the Green Energy Expo & Romenvirotec to make solar technologies more attractive to them?

The main reluctance we have generally encountered, both directly as an importer and in feedback from our installer or reseller partners, is related to the idea of high upfront costs, the length of amortisation of the investment and fears about the reliability of the equipment. We will emphasise on clarifying these issues, demonstrating that modern systems are reliable, efficient and with new storage solutions, the payback on investment is faster. We will emphasise, as we have done for over 13 years, the long-term benefits: reduced bills and energy independence.

How do you see the evolution of the photovoltaic market in Romania in the medium and long term and what role does your company aims to play in this context?

The photovoltaic market in Romania is in a phase of accelerated growth, fuelled by increased demand for green solutions and the need to reduce energy dependency. In the medium and long term, we anticipate a transition towards integrated solutions that combine PV generation, storage and smart energy management. Ecobat Energy, as a DEYE representative and Service Centre, aims to become a leader in providing these tailor-made solutions, adapted for both residential and industrial customers.
