At its XXXVIIIth edition, the competition took place between July 11-13 in Sinaia and marked the 40th anniversary of its launch. In the national phase, participated the best 114 electricians from all eight electricity distribution companies (SDEE Transilvania Nord, SDEE Transilvania Sud, SDEE Muntenia Nord, e-distribution Banat, e-distributie Muntenia, e-distributie Dobrogea, Distributie Oltenia and Delgaz Grid) as well as experts in maintenance and energy services. This year’s edition was organized by SDEE Muntenia Nord, and the themes approached, as always, a wide range of specific activity issues, including simulations of crash situations.
The Electrician Trophy was initiated by Electrica in 1977 and is part of the series of events dedicated to the Energetician’s Day (July 20th). Over the last four decades, the competition has attracted the interest and involvement of an increasing number of professionals, with the national stage giving the opportunity to the most valuable electricians to demonstrate their skills.
“There are seven contest stages: four at the distribution level and three at the maintenance level”, said Ion Preda, Electrica specialist and member of the jury. Out of the 400 participants, 30 competitors reached the national phase, which took place in Sinaia. On Tuesday there was the theoretical test, with computer-generated questions from a longer series. On Wednesday, practical evidence was held, with various situations being simulated, and on Thursday the testing with public.
In the distribution category, 18 competitors participated, and 12 in the services category, 12.
