The electricity price increased by more than 21% in February 2021, as compared to February 2020, on the Day Ahead market segment (PZU), according to OPCOM data consulted by energynomics.ro.
Thus, in February 2021, 2.25 TWh were traded on PZU, 5.36% less than in February 2020, and the average closing price was of about 234 lei/MWh, almost 21% higher than the afore-mentioned period.
Expressed in euro, the price was almost 18.7% higher.
The price of February shows a decreasing trend of 13.6% compared to the previous month, in volumes by almost 9% lower. The value of transactions in February 2021 was of 544.7 million lei, almost 16% higher than in February 2020 and 21.6% lower than in January 2021.
At the same time, on the intra-day market, with a higher volume of 6.9% and an increasing value of 20.6%, higher prices were obtained by 12.8% in February 2021, compared to the same month of the previous year, while compared to January 2021, prices were 13.56% lower (expressed in lei). The value of intra-day transactions in February 2021 was of 14.6 million lei, down 35.8%, compared to January 2021.
