The Romanian company Electromontaj won the contract for the construction of the Gutinaș-Smârdan high voltage line, one of the important projects of Transelectrica, according to e-nergia.ro.

Electromontaj won the contract with a value of 247.8 million lei, according to data from the electronic public procurement system.

“The works necessary to be executed refer to the construction of the new OPL (overhead power line) 400 kV DC Gutinaș Smârdan, its connection to the Gutinaș 400 kV and Smârdan 400 kV end stations and to the extension of Gutinaș Station,” it is shown in the quoted document.

The project of the Gutinaș-Smârdan line is very important for Transelectrica and for the electricity transmission system in Romania because it will ensure the evacuation of the energy produced in the Dobrogea area, especially from renewable sources. Funded from European funds, the line will have a length of 140 km, between Gutinaș and Smârdan and will cross the territory of three counties, respectively Bacău, Vrancea and Galați.
